Hilltoppers snap two-game losing streak

DULUTH, Minn.- In their first home games of the calendar year, the Duluth Marshall girls and Superior boys were each able to earn some much-needed victories in front of their own fans.

The Hilltoppers defeated Grand Rapids 85-58. Friday’s win put an end to Marshall’s two-game losing streak and put the Hilltoppers at 6-4 overall on the 2023-24 season. They’ll have a chance to make it two in a row as they host Rock Ridge on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Superior boys were also able to get a win over Grand Rapids 64-50. The Spartans — who had previously lost two of their last three — improve to 6-3 ahead of Saturday’s matchup against Moose Lake-Willow River.
