Saturday Morning at the Races Kicks Off at CSS
DULUTH, Minn. — Kids put on their running shoes to kick off the first day of Saturday Morning at the Races.
The Young Athletes Foundation has been hosting the races for years now.
The event is free for all kids 14 and under. It serves as a way for kids to burn off some energy while staying indoors during the winter.
There are separate races for each age category, varying in length up to a half mile for the oldest group.
“This is very much a smaller scale than Grandma’s Marathon Weekend,” said Zach Schneider, Grandma’s Marathon Marketing & Public Relations Director. “But for these kids, this is their Grandma’s Marathon. They get to see the arch, they get to have the air horn, everybody watching them.”
The Saturday races are a part of a series of three. The next event will take place on January 20, at UMD.
