Father Mourns Daughter Killed In Cloquet Hotel Shooting
CLOQUET, Minn. – We are learning more about the life of a young woman who was one of two people shot to death Monday night at the Super 8 hotel in Cloquet.
The father of 22-year-old victim Shellby Trettel calls his daughter’s death a “senseless act of violence.”

Shellby had been working at the Super 8 for more than five years. She was most recently a front desk representative.
Her father, Tim Trettel, said Shellby was shot and killed while doing the job she loved.
“Shellby was a caring, compassionate and wonderfully colorful person. She loved her siblings and friends and her music. Shellby was a person who you could always count on. Shellby Trettel is a memorable person who has touched many lives. She will be so dearly missed and forever in our hearts,” Trettel said.
