Bulldogs Shut Out Beavers in First Win of New Year

Sadura scores in first, Beavers' second-period goal called back

DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD women’s hockey team captured their first win of 2024 on Friday in a 2-0 shutout over Bemidji State.

The Bulldogs’ first goal came in the first period when Grace Sadura scored on a deflection off a shot from Jenna Lawry.

In the second period, Bemidji State appeared to tie the game on a power play, but after a challenge from UMD Head Coach Maura Crowell, the goal was called off due to a high stick. The Bulldogs would secure the win in the third period with an empty netter from Hannah Baskin.

UMD (12-7-2) and Bemidji State (3-18-1) will play the second game of their series on Saturday at 3:01 p.m. at AMSOIL Arena.
