Field Dedicated for Duluth Little League Figure
DULUTH, Minn.– Duluth Little League payed homage to one of the organization’s longest members Thursday afternoon.
Duluth Little League pioneer and past president John Ringsred was honored at a field in central Duluth, which will now be named after him. Ringsred was a key figure who helped bring little league baseball to Duluth and helped build the two fields in the early 1960’s. After all of these years, he says he does it all for the kids in the community.
“My wife and I looked and we see the sign out there and i say i built it and so it’s kind of a feeling of pride that you did something,” said Ringsred.
Ringsred is 96 years young and was the little league president when Duluth central advanced to the Little League World Series, where they won third place.
