Councilor Arik Forsman Launches ‘Duluth Download’
DULUTH, Minn. – Duluth City Councilor Arik Forsman has launched what he’s calling the Duluth Download.
It’s a bi-monthly newsletter emailed to whoever signs up.
Forman said he’ll be talking all things council and politics within the city, allowing him to dive deeper into topics that people may not see on the news or on social media.
“Just this last meeting, we bought three new pieces of equipment related to sewers, and one related to snow plowing. And that’s the type of thing that just doesn’t elevate to even being in the news. And the price tag on those things is pretty extraordinary, too. So I think it’s educational for folks, to see what the city is up to, and to get a little glimpse behind the curtain. Not that you can’t come to a city council meeting and learn all this stuff for yourselves. People have lives. They’re busy, they don’t, they don’t want to do that. They want to be able to get information in different ways. And so I’m just offering up this platform is one way that Duluthians can learn a little bit more about what’s going on with their city council,” Forsman explained.
Forsman said he got the newsletter idea from former councilor Noah Hobbs who had a version of his own newsletter.
