Third Period Burst Lifts Rock Ridge Over Proctor

Wolverines' sixth-straight win

PROCTOR, Minn.- After steamrolling North Shore by 10 goals on Tuesday, the Rock Ridge boys hockey team stayed hot on Thursday, taking down Proctor 4-1 at the St. Luke’s Sports & Events Center.

The game’s first goal came in the third period on a Proctor power play when the shorthanded Wolverines stole the puck, leading to a goal from Grady Dimberio. Later in the period, Rock Ridge scored on a power play of their own with Caz Carlson finding the back of the net. Proctor’s Austin Bryant would cut the Rails’ deficit to one goal by scoring with 5:39 remaining, but their chances of a comeback were extinguished following two empty-net goals from Rock Ridge.

The Wolverines (14-2-1) won’t get much rest before their next game on Saturday against Duluth East (5-11-1). Meanwhile, Proctor (12-6) will stay at home on Tuesday when they host Ely (12-5).
