Proctor Girls Basketball Not Letting Tough Schedule Phase Them

The Rails are next in action on Tuesday, facing Duluth Marshall in a Lake Superior Conference showdown.

PROCTOR, Minn.- Anytime a team has a game almost every night, it can be a challenge.

But for the Proctor girls basketball team, they’ve taken it in stride as they’re on a nine-game winning streak.

The Rails would have five games in the last two weeks, that included matchups against tough opponents such as Cass Lake-Bena and Cromwell-Wright.

But all would result in a Rails win.

Even more of an added bonus, Proctor has a roster of 21 girls on it and not one is a senior.

Some of the juniors elaborated on why they’ve been playing so well as of late.

“It’s our defense. It’s definitely playing uptight, guarding the ball and then it’s moving the ball on offense. Driving, kicking, and finding that open shooter,” said guard Paige Evans.

“I definitely think it’s the quickness. I think it’s our strategy too. I do think lack of height is tough for us but we’re able to overcome that,” added guard Lily Smith.
