The donation was presented in the form of a $20,000 check as part of Loll Designs 1% for the Planet Pledge, which donates a portion of sales from their Lollygagger collection to help support outdoor recreation.

President of Loll Designs Eric Swanson said, Chester Bowls mission–to connect Duluthians with nature–made it a perfect candidate for this donation.

“As a company that manufactures outdoor furniture, we believe in our cause of finding ways to get people outside. Whether that’s through our products or our philanthropy to organizations like Chester Bowl. So, it’s not just for our local community, but we have a lot of team members and a lot of team members kids who use this hill as well.”

Chester Bowl Executive Director Dave Schaeffer said, the money will go toward Growing Up Chester which is a campaign to revamp the Thom Storm Chalet.

“The chalet just isn’t serving our needs anymore. It is becoming dilapidated, it’s too small for our programs and it’s not ADA accessible. By expanding and renovating, we’ll be able to fix all of those issues and make sure we can serve generations to come.”

This is one of three donations Loll Designs will make this week. Next up will be Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores and Hartley Nature Center in Duluth.
