The Duluth Public Library has Free Wi-Fi Hotspots Available to Check out

DULUTH, Minn. — Wi-Fi hotspots are now available for check out at the Duluth Public Library. The hotspots allow people to access Wi-Fi even away from the library.

The library has 25 kits available for check out, and since they were introduced two weeks ago there has already been high demand.

The kits were funded through the Universal Service Fund and are free to use.

Over the years the library has seen an increase in people using the primary Wi-Fi at the main building– now, people just need a library card to check out a kit.

“Public libraries are absolutely critical, that’s the role we play these days. And so this is one extension of that, bridging the community within the community, outside of the community, bridging people to the greater world, helping them to access information,” said Steph Myer, Adult Services Supervisor at the Duluth Public Library.

The kits can be checked out for up to two weeks at a time and are available at all three library locations.
