A Hockey Lover’s Dream

SUPERIOR, Wisc. — If you’re a Hockey Fan, especially a pro hockey fan, there will be an auction Saturday in Superior that could land you a piece of history.

The personal collection of Jim Finley, the former president of the Hockey Hall of Fame will be offered for sale at Savings Auction in Superior beginning at 11 AM.

Mickey Greene, the co-owner of Savings Auction said,  “I couldn’t believe it. When I walked in the house and started when they started walking us around. I didn’t even think somebody could have such a collection. It’s the house was just set up so nice in a basement, mostly. But they had an office full of items. And the amount was, well, it’s incredible.”

The amount and variety of hockey-related items are outstanding. There are signed jerseys from Gordie Howe Mr. Hockey, the original players for the Minnesota Wild, a Neal Broten Jersey, and many more. Greene says some items will sell for a few dollars while others will sell for much more.  There are hundreds of pucks, patches, artwork, and other collectibles.

There are so many hockey items to be auctioned that Greene says the auction could last 5 or 6 hours. Again, the auction begins tomorrow morning at 11 at Savings Auction on Belknap Street in Superior.
