No. 7 UMD Women Can’t Pull Upset Over No. 2 Wisconsin

Bergen scores Bulldogs' lone goal

DULUTH, Minn.- The seventh-ranked UMD women’s hockey team couldn’t keep up with the No. 2 Wisconsin Badgers, falling 2-1 on Friday.

Wisconsin took the lead in the second period, but the Bulldogs were quick to respond with a goal from Danielle Bergen. However, a third-period power play goal from Eden Lacy would prove to be the difference maker for the Badgers.

UMD (13-10-2) will have another chance at victory against Wisconsin Saturday afternoon before turning their attention to Minnesota State Mankato.
