Prep Hockey: Mirage Down Spartans in Barn Burner, Marshall Boys Weather Storm
Proctor/Hermantown's third-straight victory
SUPERIOR, Wis.- In a battle featuring two of the best girls hockey teams in the area, Proctor/Hermantown defeated Superior 9-5 at Superior Ice Arena Monday.
Both offenses got to work early, with Superior leading 3-2 at the end of the first period. However, Proctor/Hermantown scored four goals in the second period to lead 6-5 entering the final period, ultimately leading to the win. With two games remaining in the regular season, the Mirage stand at 14-8-1 overall. Meanwhile, Superior falls to 19-3 with Central Wisconsin and Western Wisconsin rounding out their regular season schedule.
In boys hockey, Duluth Marshall successfully defended their home ice, defeating North Shore 7-3 at Mars Lakeview Arena. This win puts the Hilltoppers at 13-6-1 with four road games remaining on their regular season schedule. The 7-8-3 Storm will have a quick turnaround when they host Ashland at home on Tuesday.
