Francisco & Marthaler Claim Gold at Youth Olympic Games

This is the 2nd time the U.S. has won Gold at the Youth Olympics.

GANGWON, South Korea.- Two Northlanders would earn gold bright and early on Wednesday morning.

Hermantown defenseman A.J. Francisco and Superior defenseman JJ Marthaler as well as their U.S. Youth teammates would take on Czechia in the gold medal game of the Youth Olympics.

Francisco would tally an assist on the first goal.

After that, the red, white, and blue would leave no doubt as they came away with the 4 to nothing shutout victory.

This is the 2nd time the U.S. has won Gold at the Youth Olympics.
