Yellowjackets Track and Field Duo Earn UMAC Weekly Honors

The two will next be in action at the Maday Classic on Saturday.

SUPERIOR, Wis.- Two UWS track and field standouts picked up weekly honors in the UMAC for their efforts this past weekend.

Cale Newby was a speedster at the Lake Superior Challenge over the weekend. He won the 5K, finishing with a personal best time of 17.42.

That mark now places him 4th in the conference.

So Newby had the track covered and his teammate Jason Thomas had the field covered.

Thomas picked up a lifetime PR in the pole vault, finishing with a mark of four meters. His mark was second in the conference, just behind teammate Garrett Lynch.

The two will next be in action at the Maday Classic on Saturday.
