Northland BIPOC Business Showcase Returns To Duluth Depot
DULUTH, Minn. — The 4th annual Northland BIPOC Business Showcase took place Saturday, featuring local artists and entrepreneurs.
Over 30 vendors filled the great hall at the Duluth Depot. From BIPOC owned businesses, handmade crafts and even multiple food tables.
The founder of the event, Kia Ronning, says it started with just 10 vendors the first year and has grown rapidly since. Ronning also says it is important to have such an event in the community during Black History Month.
“It’s huge for the community because, so many times, especially during Black History Month, I think we focus on the negative aspects and the hard times it took us to get here,” said Ronning. “And now we get to celebrate the joy and the work that still needs to be done and that really helps with that.”
Not only was there plenty of shopping opportunities, there was also a 360 photo station and a fashion show.
