Lake Superior College Expansion Project Continues
LSC unveiled a precast concrete wall mock-up today, the next step in the construction project
DULUTH, Minn. — The expansion project at Lake Superior College is well underway.
Once complete, the new T-building will add 9,000 square feet and provide a place for manufacturing students a place on the main campus. Currently, students studying welding, machine tool, and computer-aided design, attend classes at the temporary downtown campus.
President Patricia Rogers said the expansion will benefit everyone at LSC.
“We are so excited to bring the student back to the main campus,” Rogers said. “It makes student services much easier, food service, everything. We know that they have better parking here as well. And it’s just a wonderful way to make our main campus even more vibrant than it is.”
Now that the foundation is done, the next step is the precast walls. They are made up completely of concrete, but look like brick or wood.
The expansion is expected to be complete in December 2024, one year after its start.
