UWS Men’s & Women’s Hoops Secure Spots in UMAC Championship Game

The women's squad will host Minnesota Morris in the title game Saturday. Meanwhile, the men's team will travel to Bethany Lutheran on Saturday for their title matchup.

SUPERIOR, Wis.- The UWS men’s and women’s basketball teams extended their seasons on Wednesday, both defeating North Central in the UMAC semifinals.

The lady Yellowjackets started off the night by handling the Rams, 72 to 59.

Elise Besonen led the squad with 25 points.

UWS will play host to Minnesota Morris on Saturday in the championship game.

Following that game, the men’s team held off North Central in a close contest, 80 to 77.

Max Briggs with a team-leading 19 points.

UWS will next head to Bethany Lutheran on Saturday for the title game.
