Munger Announces Bid for Minnesota House District 3B
Retired judge says he has something to "bring to the table."
DULUTH, Minn. — Mark Munger announced Friday that he is running for the Minnesota legislature. He is seeking the House 3B seat now held by Natalie Zeleznikar. Munger is a DFLer, Zeleznikar a Republican.
Munger graduated from Denfeld High School and UMD before becoming an attorney and District Court Judge.
He said his background can help at the Capitol.
“I think I can bring something to the table down in St. Paul that nobody really can bring, like somebody who’s worked in the system,” said Munger.
“I mean I was a judge for 22 years, 23 years with my senior judge status. [Also a] prosecuting attorney. Through that experience, I think I can bring a guiding hand to some legislation, you know? I think I really have that ability. We’ll see if the voters think so,” Munger said.
Munger said it is early and he has not yet heard from the voters as to the issues important to them. But, he said his interests include health care, eldercare, the environment, and jobs.
He says his main reason for running is to make a better world for his six grandchildren.
