UMD’s Clara Van Wieren Wins WCHA Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year Award

It's the 2nd straight season a Bulldog has taken home the title after goaltender Emma Soderberg won the award last year.

DULUTH, Minn.- UMD senior forward Clara Van Wieren is being recognized for her efforts off the ice.

On Thursday, Van Wieren was named the WCHA Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year.

The award is presented annually to the league’s top student-athlete who excels on the ice and in the classroom.

It’s the 2nd straight season a Bulldog has taken home the title after goaltender Emma Soderberg won the award last year.

So far this season, Van Wieren has scored a career-best 13 goals this season with 24 points.
