West Duluth Library Branch Celebrates Upgrades

DULUTH, Minn. — The West Duluth Branch Library held a ribbon-cutting Monday to celebrate upgrades.

The upgrades consisted of a new service desk, a new computer center, new shelving and a new layout. The Duluth Library Foundation raised $30,000 to fund upgrades to Duluth Library branches. The upgrades are centered around providing a welcoming space to library goers. Speakers at the ribbon-cutting told stories about why libraries are so vital to the Duluth community.

“It is one of those places that is so special and so unique, and West Duluth Library gets so much love from its community day-to-day,” said Lori Crocker, West Duluth Library, Branch Supervisor  they show up here, they know the staff, we know them, and they are just such a special community and we’ve always felt loved here.”

The upgrades focused on improving the inside of the library for guests and staff by creating a layout that aids day-to-day movement.
