#8 UMD Women’s Hockey Gearing Up for Clash with #9 UCONN in NCAA Tournament

All-time Crowell and company are 5-4 in the NCAA tournament.

DULUTH, Minn.- For the fourth straight season, the UMD women’s hockey team has found themselves in the national tournament.

They’ll look to keep a perfect record in the regional round on Thursday when they head to Columbus to battle 9th ranked UCONN.

The Huskies are the Hockey East regular season and tournament champions.

Head Coach Maura Crowell has taken an approach like she has all season and that’s focusing on their play and not the opponents.

Regardless, she knows that UCONN will bring out the best of her team when they drop the puck.

“I think our tournament experience, these guys being in four in a row. A lot of players in our locker room having this experience. You’re going to expect another team’s best. And at this time of the year, it’s important for us to be at our best too. So it’s going to be a great game. It’ll be a challenge, I don’t want anyone to think otherwise. And we’ll be ready to go,” said Crowell.

All-time Crowell and company are 5-4 in the NCAA tournament. They’ll aim for win number six at six on Thursday.
