State Basketball: Cherry Rolls Past Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in Class A Quarterfinals

Cherry will next face Nevis on Friday at noon.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- The top seeded Cherry Tigers showed why they were given the one seed in Class A on Thursday.

In the quarterfinals, Cherry would dominate Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 78 to 46 to advance to Friday’s semifinals.

The Tigers were led by Isaiah Asuma, who had 26 points in the victory. Just behind him was Isaac Asuma, who had 20.

It was a bit of revenge for the Tigers as the Knights ended their title hopes a year ago in the semifinals.

Cherry will next face Nevis on Friday at noon at the Williams Arena.
