Guilty Plea Entered for Hibbing Man in Iron Range Murder
Dylan Gilbertson has pleaded guilty to second degree murder
A Hibbing man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Dylan Bernard Gilbertson, 19, entered his plea on Friday in a St. Louis District County Courtroom, for the murder of 20-year-old Jaysen Greenwood of Hibbing.
Greenwood’s body was found burned in Mountain Iron at the Mott Pit area on May 19, 2016. According to the initial criminal complaint, Greenwood’s body was discovered in a ditch with something around his head. Investigators discovered multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma to the head and facial areas. A partial blade was also discovered in his chest.
Gilbertson remains in St. Louis County jail, his bail is set at $1 million. His sentencing is set for December 14 and is expected to receive 35 years in prison, as part of a plea agreement.
