UMD Sophomore Forward Ben Steeves Making Jump to Pros with Florida Panthers

DULUTH, Minn.- After spending the last two seasons wearing a Bulldog sweater, UMD forward Ben Steeves will soon don a Florida Panthers jersey.
On Monday, Steeves signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the NHL club.
In 72 career games, he would have 45 goals and 17 assists for 62 total points. Steeves would also lead the Bulldogs in goals in his two seasons, including 24 just this past year.
The Hobey Baker Award nominee is just the 2nd Bulldog to depart the program this off-season.
Steeves is set to make his pro debut on Wednesday for the Charlotte Checkers, the top affiliate for the Panthers.
