Officers Continue to Investigate the Death of Scott Christensen
Parents of Scott Christensen seek answers and closure in their son's death
It’s been more than six weeks since 24–year–old Scott Christensen was found dead in the middle of an Iron Range highway.
Investigators know he was killed after being hit by a vehicle but they’re still trying to figure out exactly how it happened.
Now, Scott’s parents are asking the public to help solve the mystery.
His parents explained to FOX21 that he was always a free spirit. When he wasn’t welding, Scott could often be found taking long walks along major roads and that’s what he was doing last month when he was struck and killed.
At around 4 a.m. on October 2nd, a passer by on Highway 100 south of Aurora reported seeing a body on the road.
At this point, investigators do not know who was driving the vehicle that hit Scott but they do think it was an accident.
Steve Borchers, the Investigative Sergeant, said “It was quite dark and there are no street lights in that area.”
Scott’s family says they just want closure over the death of who they call, their miracle child.
Rita Licari, Scott’s mom, said “I understand you’re scared but I would hope you would come forward, help us and help yourself.”
If you know anything about the incident you are asked to call 911. You can remain anonymous if you decide to do so.
Licari said, “We understand that this was an accident and the person may not know but we are pleading they come through and help us find closure.”
Scott was killed a little more than a mile from his father’s home.
Investigators believe the person who hit Scott may have thought they struck an animal.
