UMD Pop-Up Bike Repairs Every Thursday of April

DULUTH, Minn. — Spring is in the air, and you might be eager to give your bike wheels a good spin. But… slow down! Experts say, it’s important to first make sure your bike is in prime condition.

The University of Minnesota Duluth was the place to be on Thursday, April 4, for all things bike tune ups and repairs.

Bike specialist Rabe Oeltjen was onsite to help riders prepare for the season, and avoid a chain reaction of problems.

One way to do this, is by utilizing the ABC bike check. “‘A’ standing for air in the tires, ‘B’ make sure your brakes are good, and ‘C’ is make sure your chain lube is on and your shifting is working okay,” Oeltjen stated.

Rabe will be at UMD every Thursday of this month, helping students and anyone in the community with their bike needs for free.
