“Wear Blue” Day Across Minnesota for Child Abuse Prevention Month
DULUTH, Minn. — April is officially Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month in Minnesota and Duluth was full of blue today to support the cause.
First Witness Child Advocacy Center encouraged the community to “Wear Blue” Friday in recognition of the month.
Landmarks across the state are also lit up blue in support of the cause… including Duluth’s own Enger Tower.
First Witness says while April is the dedicated month for child abuse awareness, people should be informed about the issue all year round.
“It’s really really important to talk about this issue and have it at the forefront of our minds because that’s how we can really create community change, that’s how we can bring awareness to this big issue,” said Ashley Krois, Lead Family Advocate and Trainer, First Witness.
First Witness will be updating its website and social media throughout the month to provide information on how the community can get involved in preventing child abuse.
