Local Artist Has Pieces Displayed in Mayor’s Reception Room
DULUTH, Minn. — The Mayor’s Reception Room at the Duluth City Hall got a makeover and one local artist is having her artwork displayed throughout the room.
Kelly Schamberger is the featured artist whose paintings are now hanging in the reception room.
Duluth Mayor Roger Reinert says the room is used for many meetings and he wanted to showcase talent from the community on the walls. Schamberger’s paintings will stay in place through the end of the year.
“I think it was on the night of the election, when he (Mayor Reinert) had found out he won, he said ‘okay, let’s get your paintings ready.’ So here we are, and it’s an honor to have the work in this space,” said Schamberger.
Mayor Reinert says he hopes different local artists can have their work displayed in the room each year.
