Late Surge Lifts Yellowjackets Past Rams

Seven runs scored in seventh inning

SUPERIOR, Wis.- The UW-Superior baseball team earned their second win in a three-game series with North Central, defeating the Rams 9-1 Sunday afternoon.

North Central took an early lead off a throwing error by UWS in the second inning. The Yellowjackets were able to tie the game in the fifth inning with a Trey Sybrant single that brought in Payton Stein. In the seventh inning, UWS sprang forward with seven runs before adding another run in the eighth inning.

At the plate, Sybrant finished with four hits and three RBI. Nick Fredrickson tallied three hits and two RBI while Isaac Fugere also brought in two runs.

UWS will drive across the bridge next weekend as they take on Minnesota Morris in a three-game series at Wade Stadium.
