Prep Softball: Superior, Proctor Deliver Shutouts
Proctor's Shelton pitches no-hitter
SUPERIOR, Wis.- Two of the hottest softball teams in the area started the week off with home shutout victories on Monday.
Superior scored 17 runs in the first two innings to defeat Carlton-Wrenshall 18-0 in four innings. The Spartans’ final run came on a solo home run from Paige R. Johnson in the third inning. Superior (4-1) will stay at home this Thursday for a home outing against Cloquet.
In Proctor, the Rails improved to 6-0, taking down Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin 10-0 in five innings. Along with scoring four runs in the first inning, Emma Shelton threw a no-hitter on the mound. Proctor will have a chance to stay undefeated on the road Tuesday against Hibbing.
