Over 200 LSC Students Show Off Work At Spring Art Show
DULUTH, Minn. — Over 200 students’ artwork is on display at Lake Superior College.
The Spring Art Show includes students enrolled in any of LSC’s art classes. Pieces included paintings, ceramics, metal art and jewelry.
One student took a drawing class and created a self-portrait. He says the art means a lot to many different students.
“I just see a lot of people really happy about the art they made. I’ve seen a lot of people come up with their parents or siblings or friends and they’re like ‘hey I made that, look at that.’ And they’re like ‘oh that’s really cool.’ And that makes me really happy to see people really feeling good about the art they made,” said Emanuel Eisele, senior at LSC.
Other students took “intro to sculpture design. Their teacher gave them an interesting prompt to create a wearable costume from a certain time-period. They are excited to show everyone what they made.
“I think it’s really cool that we get to do this. And I guess I never thought that my art would really be like shown off really especially on camera,” said Joel Wifler, freshman at LSC. “Art takes up space you know and for it take up space on a human body and to show it in a different way than just clothes and then all of our art here today taking up space showing people what creativity is all about and representing who we are as people,” explained Lilly Ashford-Ball, freshman at LSC.
The Spring Art Show is going on until Wednesday night at 9 p.m. Some of the art is also up for sale.
