Stealth Boys Lacrosse Off to Best Start in Program History
The Stealth have already surpassed last season's win total of five.
HERMANTOWN, Minn.- Just last season, the Hermantown/Proctor boys lacrosse team didn’t even get to six wins.
Fast forward to this year and the team is off to their best start in program history at 6-0.
A big reason for the team’s success has been their depth. The Stealth have a program-high 49 players, 13 of which are seniors on the roster.
Helps even more when Hermantown/Proctor has outscored their opponents 88 to 28 in their first six games.
Junior midfielder Kale Smith says that kind of success wouldn’t happen if it weren’t for them turning it up a notch in their preparation.
“I just think it starts with our practices, we’ve been having high energy practices. The boys are just loose in practice and we just start off hot each game. We just continue to build off that. We have solid defense, solid goalie. Beau has been playing great in the net and it just continues from there,” said Smith.
“I think our main thing right now is not to get too cocky. Treat every team equally and come into every game with a high intensity mindset,” added senior attacker Cody Kalkbrenner.
The Stealth will next be in action on Friday in Moorhead.
