UMD Women’s Hockey Names Van Wieren & Jobst-Smith as Captains for Upcoming Season

Hannah Baskin and Mary Kate O'Brien will serve as alternates.

DULUTH, Minn.- Four months from now the UMD women’s hockey team will be back at it as they prep for the 2024-2025 season.

On Wednesday, they would reveal their leaders for the upcoming season.

The Bulldogs have named Clara Van Wieren and Nina Jobst-Smith as captains. Hannah Baskin and Mary Kate O’Brien will serve as alternates.

Jobst-Smith and Van Wieren have each played in 135 consecutive games and helped lead UMD to four straight NCAA tournament appearances.

Baskin and O’Brien on the other hand are coming off their best offensive seasons.
