Hilltoppers Hand Esko First Loss of Season

Sectionals begin next week

ESKO, Minn.- The Esko baseball team is no longer undefeated as Duluth Marshall defeated the defending state champions 3-1 Monday night.

With this loss, Esko stands at 17-1. They’ll have a chance to get back on track Tuesday at Cloquet before their regular season finale on Thursday at Grand Rapids.

The Hilltoppers (13-2) will play both Hibbing and Champlin Park on Wednesday before their final game of the regular season on Thursday against Mora.

The Section 7AA Baseball Tournament will begin on Tuesday, May 28. Esko won the 2023 tournament after Duluth Marshall were crowned the 2022 champions.
