Bloomington Drug Bust Yields Record Amount of Fentanyl

Largest amount ever confiscated in the state of Minnesota

A recent drug bust in Hennepin County yielded a record amount of a powerful painkiller, fentanyl.

Authorities say Bloomington Police raided a home on November 3, and seized nearly three-quarters of a gallon of the potent synthetic opioid. The amount seized has an estimated street value of $275,000.

The Sheriff’s Office says its the largest amount ever confiscated in Minnesota.

Officers also discovered marijuana, illegal prescription drugs, and several firearms in the home.

There were 18 fentanyl overdose deaths in Hennepin County between January and September of this year. Music superstar Prince also died from a fentanyl overdose in April.
