Zenith Bookstore Highlights Summer Reads and Events

DULUTH, Minn. — With the weather warming up, one local bookstore is introducing book lovers to the latest reads and events happening this summer.

Zenith Bookstore in Duluth says one new trend they are seeing is romance and fantasy books combined. There are also plenty of new mystery, literary fiction and non-fiction books. Popular non-fiction reads that are selling are about the history of Israel and Palestine. There is also a whole case of local authors from the Twin Ports and many of those authors have books coming out this summer. Staff has their recommendations. Here is the store managers book of choice right now.

“It is set during the time they were basically evicting people in Scotland. These people who had lived on the Outer Hebrides and the islands. British Lords wanted to use that land for grazing. And so, this is a book about this man who’s sent to tell this guy who’s been living on an island alone, the only home that he’s ever known. That he has to leave. They don’t speak the same language, but they somehow come to this understand and it’s just like a really interesting, really beautifully written book,” said Sarah Brown, Manager and New Book Buyer at Zenith Bookstore.

Events to look forward to at Zenith include a Summer Solstice Block Party on June 20th. There are also a bunch of author book signings throughout the season as well.
