Warm Weather Welcomes People to Go Out and Vote

People Are More Likely to Vote When Weather is Nice

The unseasonably warm temperatures are helping people go out and vote.

Every election, weather conditions affect voter turnout across the country. And even though Minnesota consistently has one of the highest rate of voter participation in the nation, some voters tell us, the nice weather makes it easier to get out to the polls, but even a blizzard would not have stopped them.

“I would probably have 2nd thoughts about leaving the house if it was raining, but it’s an important election, and it’s nice to have it nice out,” said Erik Johnsrud, a voter.

“Extremely nice, especially for November,” said Robert White, also a voter.

Duluth had rain that changed over to snow last presidential election, and was around 15 degrees colder.
