Huskies Rally to Beat Big Sticks in Extra Innings
First home victory of season
DULUTH, Minn.- After losing their first three meetings against the Badlands Big Sticks, the Duluth Huskies responded with a 10-9 victory at Wade Stadium on Monday.
Badlands led 8-4 after six innings, but Duluth responded with one run in the seventh inning and three runs in the ninth inning to the game. After giving up a run in the top of the 10th, Joe Vos re-tied the game with an RBI double before Vos scored the game-winning run on a Boots Landry single to right field.
Matthew Foley (1-0) earned his first win of the season on the mound, striking out one batter and allowing no hits in one inning pitched.
The Huskies are now headed north of the border for a pair of games against the Thunder Bay Border Cats on Wednesday and Thursday before both teams play at Wade Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
