MSHSL Announces Seeding Changes for Basketball & Hockey State Tournaments

The league has adopted a "seed them all" policy for hockey and basketball.

DULUTH, Minn.- Two Minnesota State High School League tournaments will see a change to how they seed teams going forward.

Announced earlier this week, the league has adopted a “seed them all” policy for hockey and basketball.

That means that all eight teams will be seeded one through eight.

Previously, they would seed one through five and have the final three go through a random draw to determine matchups.

Basketball and Hockey are the latest to make the change after volleyball has already done so.

Football has also changed their seeding ranking one through fourĀ for the North and the South.
