Opening Day is Sweet at Central Hillside Farmers Market
Rosy Cheeks and other stands offered an array of foods, sweets, and activities for all ages

DULUTH, Minn. — It was opening day for the Central Hillside Farmers Market on Tuesday afternoon.
Vendors selling produce, plants, crafts, and sweet treats set up at the corner of North 5th Avenue East and East 3rd Street. There was also a food truck, kids activities, and an accordion player to keep everyone entertained. The market brought together veteran sellers and newbies.
“This is my first season doing farmers markets and stuff,” said Jamie Burwell, owner of Rosy Cheeks Treats and Sweets. “I do have a Facebook that I sell all my treats on usually. My specialty is kind of birthday cakes and birthday treats, so I’m trying to venture out more and doing cookies, Bundt cakes, and other treats like that.”
Burwell said she’s seen plenty of interest today, despite construction surrounding the market. Her most popular item? A Biscoff Cookie Butter Rice Krispie. You can check out that treat and more, every Tuesday this summer from 2 to 5 p.m.
