Neighbor’s “Quick Action” Saves Three and a House from Overnight Fire
DULUTH, Minn. — A neighbor is being credited for their “quick response” in saving three people and a house from fire early Tuesday morning.
According to the Duluth Fire Department, fire broke out at a house on West 6th street at about 12:12 Tuesday morning.
Upon arrival, crews discovered the front steps and porch engulfed in flames. Officers made sure the three residents had escaped.
The blaze was then knocked down and kept from reaching the interior of the house. Crews were on scene for about two hours. No injuries were reported.
Damage is estimated at $30,000. A cause of the fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s Office.
The neighbor that discovered the fire called 911 and then alerted the occupants. The fire department said, this was certainly a factor in the damage not being
greater.
