Missing Duluth Man Found Dead in Pokegama River
SUPERIOR, Wis. — The body of a missing Duluth man was found in the Pokegama River in the Village of Superior Monday afternoon.
43-year-old Ryan Lahti was last seen fleeing into the woods on Cemetery Road in Douglas County after a traffic stop on June 8.
Authorities had an extensive search using K9’s, drones, and thermal imaging was unable to locate Lahti at the time of the incident.
Lahti was then reported missing on June 14 by family after they hadn’t heard from him in several days.
On Monday, Lahti’s body was located partially submerged in the Pokegama River in the Village of Superior east of Cemetery Road.
Assisting in this investigation was the WI DNR, Superior Fire Department and the Duluth Police Department.
Lahti’s cause of death is pending results of autopsy.
