Hoffbauer Tree Farm is getting ready to cut nearly 1,200 trees

The holiday season is fast approaching, which means you will probably start seeing Christmas trees for sale in the next few weeks. Hoffbauer Tree Farm in Duluth is getting ready to cut nearly 1,200 trees from their farm to sell this season.

A majority of the trees Hoffbauer Tree Farm sell are firs, but they also sell some spruce, Scotch pine & Norway pine.

The Hoffbauer Tree Farm is family operated and one of the few Christmas tree growers in the Northland.

The business started in 1987 with a small plot of Christmas trees and has grown with the support of the community.

“The numbers are staggering if you put money in to local [businesses], how it stays local,” said Jesse Hoffbauer, owner of Hoffbauer Tree Farm. “We’re very fortunate. Duluth is a unique city. We’re all about supporting local. We truly appreciate it and we try to provide the best product we can locally.”

Hoffbauer Tree Farm will begin selling at the Duluth Farmers’ Market on Black Friday. They also sell at Dan’s Feed Bin in Superior.
