Northwestern Football Draws Challenging Region for Playoffs

Kickoff for Friday's game against St. Croix Central is set for 7 p.m.

MAPLE, Wis. – The season continues for the Northwestern football team.

Friday night, the Tigers will make the long drive south to take on St. Croix Central for their Level 1 playoff game. The last time these two teams met was back in 2018 when the Panthers defeated the Tigers in the Level 3 playoff round. But the team is welcoming the challenge.

“I honestly really enjoyed hearing that news. It’s a big opportunity for our team to go out there and show them what we got. I feel like our guys are going to give it our all, put it all on the field and hopefully come away with the win,” said fullback Brennen Werner.

“Not having a state championship, only having the opportunity to potentially have a playoff game of two here, drawing them is a great opportunity for our kids because of our past shortcomings against this program. This is something they can hang their hat on if they’re able to go down there and have success,” head coach Jovin Kroll said.

Kickoff for Friday’s game is set for 7 p.m. Due to field conditions, the game will be played at Hudson High School.
