ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota health officials reported 5,945 new cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota Tuesday morning bringing the total confirmed COVID cases to 236,949 in the state.

Health officials also reported 26 news deaths bringing the death total to 2,943 in Minnesota.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health website, 3,506,178 tests have been completed to date.

There are 186,680 patients who no longer require isolation.

So far, 13,594 patients have required hospitalization and 3,247 cases have been hospitalized in ICU.

Carlton: 1,228 – 8 deaths
Cook: 46
Itasca: 1,452 – 19 deaths
Koochiching: 285 – 5 deaths
Lake: 255 – 1 death
St. Louis: 6,011 – 84 deaths
Ashland: 525 – 7 deaths
Bayfield: 563 – 6 deaths
Douglas: 1,405 – 1 death
Iron: 305 – 6 deaths
Sawyer: 685 – 5 deaths
Gogebic: 494 – 9 deaths

As of Tuesday afternoon, Wisconsin health officials reported 323,848 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 2,741 deaths.

Health officials say the real number of Minnesotans infected with the coronavirus is likely much higher because most people did not originally qualify for testing, and studies suggest that people can be infected without feeling sick.
