ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota health officials reported 5,102 new cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota Wednesday morning bringing the total confirmed COVID cases to 242,043 in the state.

Health officials also reported 67 news deaths bringing the death total to 3,010 in Minnesota.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health website, 3,543,671 tests have been completed to date.

There are 193,869 patients who no longer require isolation.

So far, 13,892 patients have required hospitalization and 3,307 cases have been hospitalized in ICU.

Carlton: 1,250 – 9 deaths
Cook: 48
Itasca: 1,489 – 19 deaths
Koochiching: 293 – 5 deaths
Lake: 266 – 1 death
St. Louis: 6,192 – 85 deaths
Ashland: 539 – 7 deaths
Bayfield: 572 – 6 deaths
Douglas: 1,421 – 1 death
Iron: 310 – 6 deaths
Sawyer: 710 – 5 deaths
Gogebic: 497 – 9 deaths

As of Wednesday afternoon, Wisconsin health officials reported 331,837 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 2,793 deaths.

Health officials say the real number of Minnesotans infected with the coronavirus is likely much higher because most people did not originally qualify for testing, and studies suggest that people can be infected without feeling sick.
