New Program in Duluth Helps with Transportation Barriers
CAD Program Helps People Drive
Community Action Duluth kicked off a new program today to help people overcome their transportation barriers.
Drive is a program that helps people obtain drivers licenses, educates people about how to care for a car, and helps people explore options for driving and getting on the road. CAD has also teamed up with Twin Ports NAPA Auto Care Centers to get cars for people who need them. and 2 people received cars today.
“Once people do get the vehicle they’re able to go to, little things like the grocery store, go to after school programs for their kids, go to plays that people put on, we also noticed they’re more involved with the community resources that are offered,” said Susie Green, the Transportation Coach at CAD.
CAD is looking for more car donations for anyone who has a vehicle they aren’t using anymore.
