Hunter Shepard & Hershey Bears Win 2nd Straight Calder Cup

HERSHEY, Penn.- Game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals wasn’t the only big hockey game happening Monday night.

Former UMD goaltender Hunter Shepard and the Hershey Bears were vying for their 2nd straight Calder Cup.

Shepard did his part in net as he stopped 17 of the 21 shots he saw in the contest.

The game then went into overtime tied at four.

A little over a minute into the extra period, Matt Strome played hero, ripping a wrister to the back of the net.

Shepard and the Bears go back-to-back claiming the Calder Cup trophy with the 5-4 overtime victory.
