Love Your Melon Day Donates 10,000 Hats to Children with Cancer Nationwide

UMD students participated in their local chapter by donating hats and taking a child to the Duluth Children's Museum.

Love Your Melon is a company that wants to provide every child fighting cancer with a hat

The University of Minnesota Duluth Campus Crew took part by taking two-year-old Liam to the Children’s Museum.

Liam was diagnosed with leukemia at twenty-three months and the day provided him with an opportunity to have fun and forget about his illness.

“It’s incredible, it’s so great to be able to take them out and to kind of treat them to this so they don’t have to be at home or stuck in a hospital room. It’s great to see him happy and that his mind isn’t on what he’s dealing with right now,” said Jessica Heid.

The crew will take another child to an apple orchard on Friday.
